The book contains interesting theoretical material reflecting modern scientific views on the problems of interaction of language, culture, and text. The relevance of this book lies in the burning issues of the relationship between language, culture, and text, namely: a) concepts of language and concepts of culture, b) identity in the space of language and culture, c) proper name in language, culture and text, d) political correctness and euphemisms. Studying intertextuality, the author draws the reader’s attention to the existence of two approaches to this phenomenon: a broad approach is to reveal the identity of parts of an intertext in terms of structure and genre, while a narrow approach is to identify the material similarity of parts of an intertext and include other texts or their fragments in the main text. The author provides a brief description of such new manifestations of text as hypertext, tweets, posts, etc. The novelty of the publication lies in the author’s focus on interpreting culture as a semiotic phenomenon, understanding natural language as one of the languages of culture, identifying the main components of text semantics, differentiating between meanings and interpretations, and modeling key concepts that ensure the relevance of understanding one’s own and other cultures.
