<abstract xml:lang="en">

This article addresses the clinical phenomenon of resistance in group analysis of clients identified as Orthodox Christians. The study explores the specific manifestations of resistance at the levels of the personal and dynamic matrices, taking into account the cultural and spiritual context. Particular attention is paid to the shared Orthodox background of both the therapist and the group members, which, on the one hand, enhances the significance of spiritual themes and, on the other hand, may function as a specific form of resistance that complicates direct communication and the psychological interpretation of symptoms. The paper substantiates the importance of maintaining the therapist’s analytic position, which involves a clear differentiation between the psychological and spiritual dimensions of experience. The empirical basis of the study consists of data obtained from five small analytic groups. The methodological framework is grounded on the clinical-analytic approach, with countertransference employed as both a diagnostic and a therapeutic tool. It has been shown that working with resistance contributes to the group process deepening and to individual changes in participants.
