<abstract xml:lang="en">

This paper addresses the psychological trauma influence on the physical health of adults. The study covers the period from 2015 to 2025. It has been found out that psychological trauma leaves objective "bodily traces" such as dysregulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, nervous system disturbances, chronic inflammatory processes, and increased allostatic load. The most strongly associated outcomes are cardiometabolic and functional somatic conditions. Trauma-focused therapies reduce symptoms but do not always normalize biomarkers. Currently, there is no universal integrated index for assessing the physical consequences of psychological trauma, which highlights the need for further research in this area. The results stress the importance of a comprehensive approach to prevention and treatment of traumatic events in adults. The creation of an integrative assessment tool remains a promising area for future investigation.
